Upon booking, I was told there was only one remaining room (314) but When switching rooms after a couple of days, I was told there were still many empty rooms. I understand to get customers, one needs to create the sense of urgency, so i understand this. But since in fact more than one room was available upon booking, i did not appreciate to be put in a less favorable room. 314 was not a "bad" room, I stayed in this room but found it not up to expectation and matching the price: small windows, no view to speak of, loose handles for fridge and washing machine cupboard, very low ceiling in bathroom above the sink, loose shower head fixation, no power outlet in proximity to the table. You were kind enough to prepare a different room, which was appreciated. At one point I asked the front desk about what to do with empty glass bottles in my room. I was told that the hotel does not take them away for me and that i would have to recycle them myself next to the train station... i found this hard to believe, i have never heard of a hotel where room cleaning takes care of trash and cardboard but leaves the glass recycling to the guests. I asked a different staff member and was told to just leave glass in the room and that room service will take care of it. last point i would like to make is about breakfast. in my view the breakfast does not match the good standard of the rest of your hotel. It seems to focus on convenience, which is fine in itself. but the breakfast did not offer anything I could not make in my own room: the coffee is from an automatic machine, everything seems to be bought and nothing really stands out. So the benefit of your breakfast over what I could buy and keep in my fridge is the convenience and the early opening hours. Again, it is not bad. But convenience aside, I would prefer to have breakfast somewhere else, get fresh quality coffee, a prepared omlette, etc. (Also, unfortunately one time my silverware was dirty). Having said all of this, these are just my observations should you wish to improve anything. Overall your hotel is one of the best and i really enjoyed my stay. Your staff is friendly and helfpul and the rooms are overall very clean and nice.
