You can enjoy the different beaches of La Ciotat, including three more specific beaches, a diversity for all audiences. The Lumière beach which offers an access device for disabled people, provision of specific bathing chairs, "handiplage" staff. The non-smoking beach, the first commune to have banned smoking on one of its beaches in June 2011. But also the beach reserved for animals, this beach is particularly animated. Start by visiting the Ciotaden museum, located in the old city hall, this museum contains more than 1,500 objects tracing the local history, from antiquity to the present day. From the invention of the cinematograph and the game of pétanque to the old shipyards. Continue to the Notre-Dame-de-le-Garde chapel, 85 steps carved into the rock to reach the platform that dominates the chapel and that will offer you a superb view of the bay of La Ciotat. Then, the Port Vieux, with its warmly colored facades, and the Notre-Dame-du-Port church which dominates it, its cafés and restaurants terraces, the Port Vieux has kept the charm and authenticity of a Provencal fishing port. The Notre-Dame-du-Port church, with its Romanesque façade, dominates the lively Port Vieux from the top of its stairs. The interior, where the ancient and the modern are mixed. It has frescoes by contemporary painters illustrating scenes from the Gospel and, at the back of the nave, paintings by Tony Roux.
